HD-CSC-178393-01
Regular price $178.00/
Shipping calculated at checkout.
Command attention with General Guan Yu 关羽, one of the most revered figures in history and folklore. Known as the "God of War" and the epitome of loyalty and righteousness, this intricate Piying shadow puppet captures him in full battle regalia atop his legendary steed. Encased in a contemporary acrylic frame, this piece transforms a symbol of ancient strength into a luminous work of modern art.
Guan Yu is traditionally worshipped as a guardian deity who brings protection, prosperity, and victory. He is a powerful presence for any home or office seeking an atmosphere of integrity and strength.
Key Features
- Hand-carved from premium cowhide, with high-complexity "openwork" detailing in Guan Yu’s ceremonial armor and the horse’s ornate harness
- Movable joints at the limbs and neck let you adjust the General’s posture
- Electric green acrylic frame acts as a prism, casting soft, colorful shadows on your walls
Product Details
- Medium: Hand-treated cowhide, hand-carved and dyed with traditional mineral-toned pigments for a translucent, jewel-like finish
- Size: 13.8 x 13.8 x 2 in / 35 x 35 x 5 cm
- Framing: Premium polished acrylic, translucent emerald green

For this limited series inspired by traditional Chinese landscape paintings, Li reimagined a series of dreamy Shan Shui / 山水 sceneries, with fluid compositions of natural elements. The interpretation of these new landscapes is conveyed by a contemporary touch of sculptural forms and intensely vivid colors through the medium of Risograph prints.
Risograph uses environmentally friendly soy-based ink and prints through separate layers of vibrant and fluorescent colors that cannot be achieved through regular ink. It carries a tactile quality on paper with unique imperfections.

About the Designer
Yok & Sheryo are an artist duo who are into art, surf, and drinking coldies on the beach. Heatstroke Hotel is an extension of their imaginary world, a top-secret mysterious tropical island in the middle of the Indian Ocean with amazing views and killer surf, with its own language, religion, culture, flora and fauna. Tales of mythology, strange beings and creatures roam this lush tropical landscape. A unique blend of cultural syncretism is brought to life visually into a cacophony of irreverent, riotous mixed-media paintings, murals and sculptures.
